Due to the disparity of topics and content that make up this website, and the confusion they may generate in a person who happens to come across it by chance, I feel obligated to talk about myself.
¿Quién soy? (Profesionalmente hablando 🙂 )
Soy Rebeca López Calvo, licenciada en Filosofía por la Universidad de Salamanca, y en proceso de graduarme en Lengua y Literatura Españolas en la Universidad de Burgos. Además, en el 2020 finalicé el Máster de Enseñanza del Español como Lengua Extranjera en la UNIR, y enfoqué mi TFM en la gamificación y la dinamización de las clases en línea. Tengo también un Máster sobre Escritura de guion para cine y televisión, por la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona.
En lo que se refiere a mi experiencia profesional como docente, soy profesora de ELE desde 2015.
Entre el 2017 y el 2022 trabajé como profesora de ELE en el Instituto Cervantes de Estambul, lugar en el que también desempeñé otros roles, como examinadora DELE o ponente en distintas jornadas de formación.
Desde abril del 2022 trabajo como profesora y coordinadora académica en el departamento de español en las Naciones Unidas (UNECA), concretamente, imparto clases y organizo los cursos para los empleados de la organización en la sede de Addis Abeba (Etiopía) de forma telemática.
En los últimos años me he especializado en la enseñanza de español en entornos virtuales, para lo cual me he formado y certificado como Diseñadora Instruccional, y desde el año 2020 he impartido prácticamente la totalidad de mis cursos en la modalidad online.
Por último, desde agosto del 2023, compagino mi trabajo en la UNECA con la enseñanza de español en el Centro de Idiomas de la Universidad de Valencia, ciudad en la que resido actualmente.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Salamanca, and I am in the process of graduating in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Burgos. In addition, in 2020, I completed a Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at UNIR, with a focus on gamification and class dynamics in online settings. I also hold a Master’s degree in Screenwriting for Film and Television from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
As for my professional experience as an educator, I have been teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) since 2015.
Between 2017 and 2022, I worked as an ELE teacher at the Cervantes Institute in Istanbul, where I also took on various roles, such as DELE examiner and speaker in different training sessions.
Since April 2022, I have been working as a Spanish teacher and academic coordinator en the Spanish department at the United Nations (UNECA), specifically teaching classes and organizing courses for organization employees in the remote setting of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
In recent years, I have specialized in teaching Spanish in virtual environments, for which I have received training and certification as an Instructional Designer. Since 2020, I have conducted the vast majority of my courses in an online format.
Lastly, since last August, I have been balancing my work at UNECA with teaching Spanish at the Language Center of the University of Valencia, the city where I currently reside.
